A537

This specification of ASTM A537 covers heat-treated carbon-manganese-silicon steel plates intended for fusion welded pressure vessels and structures.

The maximum thickness of ASTM A 537 plates furnished under this specification is 4 in. [100 mm] for Class 1 and 6 in. [150 mm] for Class 2 and Class 3.

Applications:

A 537 steel plates are engineered to be used in pressure vessel applications.A 537 steel plates shall be normalized in all of thickness.A 537 is a normalised steel which is heat treated and as a consequence displays greater yield and tensile strength than the more standard ASTM A516 grades. The steel is ideal for use in pressurised service both in boilers and pressure vessels and Masteel UK Limited supplies A 537 plates to the world's leading fabricators who in turn serve the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industry.
